Grace Greenwood cannot have her own picture shown for the public.
Her book of poems follows the difficult and violent life of a woman who is abused by those men who are supposed to be in love with her, from an early relationship through to a marriage and two children she charts with unflinching bravery the violence, uncertainty, insecurity and fear she lived through. Throughout her dealings with FootSteps Press the identity of her previous husband has never been revealed to protect her from his abusive response to her book.
Where she found strength was in a growing belief in herself and when she finally stepped out of the shadows of domestic violence her own life blossomed.
Grace decided to publish Stepping into the Sunshine to show other women around the world that every woman has the right to a life worth living and that no-one should accept a life lived in fear.
